I Never Noticed

As I was Stuck Inside the whole weekend due to the fact that i have been sick for the past, oh say week or so, I did not think It would be possible to do a "sound walk" considering I can't really go out given my circumstance. Well I thought to myself would it be possible to do a sound walk through my house? I thought I would give it a try. I live in a corner of two streets and I have two different entrances as well. To my surprise I heard a lot of different sounds. At the front entrance I tended to hear more business. I hear the different sounds of car engines. From small cars and big cars, to old cars, and new cars I also heard bee line buses passing my house every hour to two hours. I also hear a lot of planes flying over my house whether they are visible or not. I hear school buses, and children laughing and saying goodbye to their parents. I hear distant barks of dogs in our neighborhood.

There were also sound signals that I could not ignore no matter how much I try. The siren of the fire marshal's car. It had Such a distinct noise that it stayed in my head up until today. Not long after followed the firetrucks one after the other, after the other. At night I would hear my neighbors yell from one side of the street to the other. While the front seem to be more busy and rowdy, the back didn't seem so much. As I was standing in my kitchen the streets seemed to be more quiet. There were cars that would pass from time to time, but nothing really that stuck out like the siren of the trucks. So although I was not physically able to walk outside I did sit for a moment and listen to all that was moving around me. I also did move from one side of my house to another, and the difference was pretty unbelievable. I think that when I am able to go outside, I will do this exercise once again!
